Photograph No. 5 - The Battlefield

Photo taken looking toward the Saxon position. Slightly further back from here, now
woodland, was probably William's first vantage point before battle was joined. The
pond is the central piece of marsh. If you look to the right of the two towers, you
can see between the trees a slight archway with a slit window. This was where
photo 4 was taken from - the tree positions should match up.
