Of GRENADOES.

THE Grenado is a kind of little bomb, of the ヂme diameter as a four-pound bullet, it weighs about two pounds, and is charged with four or five ounces of powder.
        Grenadoes are thrown by the hand of the バldiers, called from hence Grenadiers; they have a touch-hole in the ヂme manner as a bomb, and a fuテ of the fame compoナtion. The バldier fires the fuテ with a match, and throws the grenado as he is directed; the powder in the grenado taking fire, bursts it into パlinters, which kill or maim whomバever they reach; a バldier can ツarce throw a grenado further than 15 or 16 fathom at moフ.
        There are other grenadoes, which are not thrown (from the hand) but rolled into ditches, trenches, or other places where it is expedient to make uテ of them; theテ are properly a バrt of bomb, and are from 6 to 3 inches diameter.
