by George F. Nafziger

368 pages, 7.46 x 10.47 inches

Napoleon at Leipzig is a complete military study of the second half of the 1813 fall campaign. It picks up after Dennewitz and examins the campaign thorugh the battle of Leipzig and back to the French passage over the Rhine. It wraps up with a discussion of most of the sieges that occurred in 1813, with a length discussion of Danzig, Dresden, and Hamburg. Napoleon at Leipzig devotes five chapters to the epic battle itself, describing every aspect of the battle that swirled around the great city.  Battle discussions include the actions of individual regiments. Complete orders of battle are provided for the major battles and some of the minor ones, including battles where Napoleon was NOT present. Most of the battles have at least one map to display the terrain and permit the reader to more fully understand the battle.
